Gua Sha is an ancient Chinese Medicine modality, literally meaning “to scrape sand.” Where a smooth, flat stone is used to press and scrape the skin and facial muscles in a prescriptive manner, with upward & outward strokes, in order to sculpt & recontour the facial lines, lift and tone the facial muscles.

This treatment really gets the blood circulating, so a flush or redness is expected. The treatment helps to release tension in the facial muscles, disperse facial adhesions that cause further tension and discomfort; increases blood flow -meaning more oxygen and nutrients to nourish the skin and tissues; stimulates lymphatic drainage and leads to the removal of cellular waste and water in the tissues which leaves you with a healthy glow with a natural radiance.

A flush or redness will be visible after treatment and typically resolves within an hour.

Bruising is possible but very rare.

It is advised to wear loose and comfortable clothing with a top that can be easily removed for full access to the decollete.

It is advised to remove eye contacts for treatment.
